Falukorv (sausage) with horseradish and bacon in the oven

Baked Falukorv is a Swedish home-cooked classic. Here with apple, cream cheese, crème fraiche and grated horseradish. Mashed potatoes are a good side dish.

800 g falukorv (what is falukorv?)
1 green apple
100 g cream cheese
2 tbsp crème fraiche
2 tbsp horseradish, grated
1 package bacon
250 g mushrooms
Lemon juice


Preheat oven to 200 °C (392 °F).

Make cuts in the sausage about 2 cm apart

Peel and slice the apple. Place the slices in the cuts.

Chop and fry the mushrooms. Season with salt, pepper and a splash of lemon juice.

Mix the cream cheese, crème fraiche and horseradish and a pinch of salt.

Spread the horseradish cheese on the sausage and place the bacon slices on top

Place the mushrooms in the sausage ring.

Bake for about 45 minutes.
